Want to download AS400 files through FTP automatically.

P: 1
Hi all,

I have an assignment to extract data from AS400 DDS files and download them to PC in a Text format, which can be used to upload in Oracle tables.

Regarding I have created the extracting programs which create Flat files. Now I want to download every file (just after it has been created) to PC by running FTP command.

Any one having information about it, can help me.

If you already have the Flatfiles available it is easy.
You can either execute an FTP script from the AS400 and put the files on the PC (assuming you have an FTP server running there) or you can get the files from the AS400.
The AS400 has a build in FTP server which you can access so with any FTP client you can pull the files from the AS400.
There are some things you have to deal with like which file system on the AS400 you are storing your files etc. (IFS, Library system etc).
