db2fm -D ; Error: failed to find the default instance. Environment variable not set

P: n/a
When executing the command : db2fm -D

I received the error:

Failed to find the default instance. Environment variable $DB2INSTANCE
not set properly.

What is the best approach from here - Using option -i for instance ?
