CREATE PARTITIONED TABLE - SQL0104N error

P: 1
Hi,

I am trying to create a partitoned table using the following:-

CREATE TABLE ORDERS(ID INT, SHIPDATE DATE)
PARTITION BY RANGE(SHIPDATE)
(
STARTING '1/1/2006' ENDING '12/31/2006'
EVERY 3 MONTHS
);

I receive the following error:-

CREATE TABLE ORDERS(ID INT, SHIPDATE DATE) PARTITION BY RANGE(SHIPDATE) (STARTING '1/1/2006' ENDING '12/31/2006' EVERY 3 MONTHS)
DB21034E The command was processed as an SQL statement because it was not a
valid Command Line Processor command. During SQL processing it returned:
SQL0104N An unexpected token "PARTITION BY RANGE" was found following "INT,
SHIPDATE DATE)". Expected tokens may include: "<partitioning_key>".
SQLSTATE=42601

SQL0104N An unexpected token "PARTITION BY RANGE" was found following "INT, SHIPDATE DATE)". Expected tokens may include: "<partitioning_key> ".
