installing db2 udb v.8 on AIX

bea
Hello,

I'm installing DB2 v8.1 on AIX but I need to modify the base directory
of the product.
In DB2 V.9 I can do ./db2_install -b /var/opt... but ¿Can I modify the
base directory in DB2 v.8.1?

I think it have to be /usr/opt and I can´t modify it.

Somebody can confirm me this.

Thank you very much.

No. That's a new feature in v9.
I think it have to be /usr/opt and I can´t modify it.

Somebody can confirm me this.

Thank you very much.

Darin gave you the answer but I was wondering why you would ever want
to install an application under /var?
