db2 transaction log isssue

7
Hi All,

Currently i am building up new environmnet for the db2 udb and i have few questions come up during designing regarding long term stability and performance.

1. I got the estimate from the application developer that the biggest UOW which require transaction log would be 2 GB. Now how many logs should i need to desing, in other words in case of rollback does it need additional 2 GB and index in that case? So in that case i need 2gb+2 gb for insert + index(200 MB), IS THAT CORRECT?

2. We have raid5 array for storage. Is it better to have more filesystem defined on one logical volume or one filesystem per one logical volume?

3. Is it better to design more logical volume group per volume group?

Please help me to expedite the design of the database.

Thanks
Dave
