TSM Keep a Specific Backup with db2adutl

Our DB2 V8 FP14 application cleans up backups over 8 days old using
the "db2adutl delete full older than 8 days" command. However our user
has asked that we keep one backup for a year. Is there any way to
manage this within TSM?

Thank you,
Ben

Ben,

Unfortunately, you are not able to do that at the moment within the DB2 TSM
environment.

You'd need to extract the backup in question using db2adutl and then use
standard TSM commands (dsmc) to archive it for 1 year.

Usually i catalog the database with a new alias i.e.:
db2 catalog db mydb as mydbyear2007 on d:

and i backup this database:

db2 backup db mydbyear2007 use tsm ...

But we regularly delete only the normal tsm images ! :

db2adutl delete full older than 8 days db mydb
