db2 on zlinux - DAS problem

P: n/a
Hello,
I'm trying to install/configure DB2 ESE 9 on SLES 9 working as a VM on
zSeries MF. The installation process go swiftly up to the point when
installer is tyring to run Database Administration Server, then
installation is finished with "minor" errors.
After that, when log in to the system as dasusr1 (default DAS user
created during installation process), and issue:
db2admin start
I receive error:

SQL4401C The DB2 Administration Server encountered an error during
startup.

I found that that ibm advises drop and recreate DAS, by issuing
following commends with root authority:

# dasdrop dasusr1
# dascrt dasusr1

....but it does not give any results.

What else I could do to start DAS?

best regards

crim

Hi Crim,
I also run DB2 on zLinux, but still at v8.2.
I vaguely recall hitting the same or similar issue.
This is probably some authorisation related problem.
Please check the following link:

Although it is for v8.2 and you are on v9, the fix only appeared very
recently with FP14, so may be v9 has the same issue.

And of course you always can open a PMR ...

HTH.

yeah I've seen it before, but the solution presented in this article
does not generate any results.
