db2 blocksize for db2 backup

P: 1
dear gurus and experts,
we have 3 sap machine, which are development, qa and production server.using db2 v.8 as database. firstly, for backup,i set blocksize 4096 on LTO 3581 ( 1 tape with 2 drives for 3 machine). but right now, for production server, backup (i use command db2backup db (SID) to /dev/rmt1) runs only with 1024 blocksize. if i set blocksize to 4096, error message come out " SQL2036N The path for the file or device "/dev/rmt1" is not valid"

so i wonder , what happened with my production server, used to be ok with 4096, right now backup only runs with 1024.
pls help me , thank you
