DB2 NS rows lock

1
hi,

I have db2 v8.1.6 on aix 5l and WAS v5.0 on aix 5l.

when the java application connect to database and execute a query 'simple query' reading from single table. number of rows in it 15000 and result data 5000. after a while all connection want to read this data become in lock-wait state. after tacking snapshots for database locks and the agent that locking the table. i found that agent lock the table with IS and each row in the result set'5000' with NS lock.

Any body can till me whats gone on and why that case happen, where it's not always happening.
