db2 and WMI

I am trying to log db2 bufferpool and other statistics using windows
'perfmon' utulity. I set up a perfmon counter log and try to
activate/run it, but it gives me error and is not activated.

However in the same perfmon, if i go to 'system monitor', I can select
and view same db2 stats using 'view current activity' option.

Why I can not set up a log for a db2 counter that I can otherwise see
in current activity view.

Steps:
- open perfmon
- go to 'Counter Logs' in 'Performance Logs nd Alerts'
- right click and choose 'New Log Settings ..."
- input the name of new counter log and it takes you to properties
- select add counter and from 'Add Counter' window select 'db2 database
manager' and then further select any db2 related counter and then click
apply
- counter log appears among the list of other logs.
- try to run it and it gives error 'The test log or alert has not
started. Refresh the log or alert list ....." . However it does not
start at all.

Also note that monitoring is ON in db2 and I can collects stats directly
by querying the system tables in db2. Also I can get these stats in
perfmon system monitor that shows current activity, if i select any of
these db2 counters. I am running Windows Server 2003.
