HACMP + DB2 HADR vs Automatic Client Reroute

Hi there,

Anybody knows should I also implement Automatic Client Reroute if I did
HACMP and DB2 HADR on AIX?

When you implement HADR on your systems, one of the things you'll need to do
is to update the the environment of the servers you have.
On the primary, issue:
db2 ? update alternate server for ....

a.. This command is only applied to the system database directory.

b.. This command should only be used on a server instance. If it is issued
7 on a client instance, it is ignored and message SQL1889W is returned.

c.. If Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) support is enabled on
the 7 machine on which the command is issued, the alternate server for the
database will be automatically 7 registered in the LDAP directory.

When the client connects to its db, it will pick up and return the info. so
that it will know where to go when the standby takes over from the primary.
