New to Db2 Stored Proc

I am newby to DB2 Stored Procedure and wish someone could explain to me what :WS-FUND-INS-ID:WS-FUND-INS-ID-NI and :WS-FREQ-CD:WS-FREQ-CD-NI are about?

EXEC SQL
SELECT INS_ID
,DISTN_FREQ_CD
INTO :WS-FUND-INS-ID:WS-FUND-INS-ID-NI
,:WS-FREQ-CD:WS-FREQ-CD-NI
FROM VC_VGI_INT_INS MAIN
WHERE MAIN.PORT_ID = :WS-FUND-IDENTIFIER
END-EXEC.

Hi,

The columns of a db2 table INS_ID ,DISTN_FREQ_CD allows null value.So for passing null values we use INDICATOR variables in adddition to host variables.
:WS-FUND-INS-ID-NI and :WS-FREQ-CD-NI are indicator variables.
