I was hoping I might be able to get a couple of answers regarding DB2 and HADR. Let me preface this by saying that I know very little about networking and I'm not familiar with the HADR product or clustering. But, I've been asked to research a couple issues for a client.
They are thinking about implementing HADR. They have DB2 production databases running on more than one box.
Does a liscense for HADR need to be purchased for each production box running DB2? Does a liscense need to be purchased for each production and each backup box? Or do you cluster the production boxes together, cluster the backup boxes together, and buy 1 liscense of HADR for the production cluster and 1 liscense for the backup cluster? Or, just 1 liscense for both clusters?
