Insert Query

Hi,

Can I have an insert-select in DB2 UDB as below ?

First select count(*) test_count from t_op T

and then

INSERT INTO tablea (select count(*) test_count from t_op T ) values
(T.test_count, 'test','test',default,'test',default)
Thanks in Advance

Two choices:
a) Using a column list and the fact that constants are allowed with
GROUP BY:
INSERT INTO tablea(cnt, c1, c2, c3)
SELECT COUNT(*), 'test', 'test', 'test' FROM t_op T)
b) Using a "scalar subquery":
INSERT INTO tablea VALUES((SELECT count(*) test_count from t_op T ),
'test','test',default,'test',default)

Cheers
