catalogging remote databases

P: n/a
Hi all,
I am using RHEL, DB2 UDB v 8.2. I have created a new database in one
system. Now I want to catalog this database in another remote system.
Do we need to set any parameters for the database? Please provide me
with a detailed step by step procedure to di this.

Thanks in Advance.......

On the remote system, first catalog the node (assuming tcpip)

db2 catalog tcpip node <NODENAMEremote <HOSTNAMEserver <PORTNR>

then catalog the database

db2 catalog db <DBNAMEat node <NODENAME>

Not tested, so I might have stumbled on the syntax

apart from these 2 stmts, do we need to set any other parameters to the
database? If so please help me...

You can additionally specify the name of the DB2 instance here. I would do
that at least for documentation purposes.

No, nothing needed.
