Tablespace reovery

Raj

For tablespace level recovery of the db is the following strategy good
enough?
Sunday's Table - Full offline backup
Mondays incremental to tape Monday's offline incremental backup +
Monday's logs
Tuesday's tape - Tuesday's offline incremental backup +
Monday's logs + Tuesday's logs
..
..
..
..
Friday's tape - Friday's offline incremental backup + (Monday's
logs + Tuesday's logs........... + Friday's logs)

To recover tablespace on Friday, I would use Sunday's tape and logs
from Friday's tape?

Thanks,
Raj

Yes that works.
To recover on Saturday, you'd need SundaY,s Fult tblspc backup, Friday's
tablespace incremental and logs from that backup to point of recovery (end
of logs or point in time).

Thanks a lot for the reply... Should i also preserve the directory
structure? eg.NODE001, NODE0003 ..etc?
Also, it is full offline db backup ( i guess it is should be the
same...)

Yes you should if you need to archive your images and then restore them from
disk on another system or configuration.
If you take a full offline db backup then you'd need the image and all the
logs generated after you reactivated (brought online) the database.
In this case the roll forward command automatically knows from which log
file to start and you roll as far as yopu need.
