how to stop new applicaitons from connecting to the databases?

Hi there,

The force application command will terminate the connections specified,
but it does not stop new applications from connecting to the databases.

Is there anyway to stop new applicaitons from connecting to the
databases for database maintenance?
Thanks in advance

Options1, remove alias from server
