Buffer Pools

Hi. I am kind of new to DB2 and to this newsgroup so please bear with
me..

My question is: IBM installation creates 250 4k bufferpools by default.
I want to increase this number to 1000, no problem, and I want to
create another buffer pool and make it 1000 4k pages also. The
documentation says that "once a buffer pool is created, table spaces
can be assigned to it using create tablespace or the alter tablespace"
commands.

Does that mean that the existing table space/s CANNOT use the new
buffer pool? I have a very static, query only, system that is
experiencing slow response so I wanted to add another buffer pool. Any
other suggestions are, ofcourse, very welcome.

Just increase the size of the existing bufferpool:

If you are new to DB2 I recommend not to create additional bufferpools
of the same pagesize. Too complicated to tune.

Cheers
