On 1 machine the installation works perfectly with one of the first
installations screens being the one with the Typical installation taking
520-590MB. (http://users.telenet.be/vibbe/db2-fine.JPG)
But on about 5 other machines i wanna do exactly the same, but then i
get the installation screen with Typical installation taking 10-20MB.

Here the installation failes eventually, does any one have seen this?
And is there a
simple solution?
On the "wrong" ones - is DB2 already installed on those machines? What
is the eventual failure message?
Thanks,
Nope, no DB2 installed, ever. (Clean installation)
I get about 3 screens instead of the usual 10, it ends after 3% off
installation with this screen:

That doesn't say much, does it?
Actually, that says a lot. An incredible amount, really. I'm going to
hazard a guess here and say that you're installing on Ubuntu.
Unfortunately, the graphical wizard is *not* supported on Debian-based
systems. Instead, you need to follow the DB2 HOWTO available on the Linux
documentation project site.
The DB2 Linux Validation site,
http://www.ibm.com/db2/linux/validate has a
link to TLDP's howto. Click on the 8.2 validation list, then click on the
ubunto 5.04 entry, and check under the comment heading.
Hope that helps!
