Intelligent miner for data - What's behind ??

Hi! I've been using Intelligent Miner for Data (IMD) since 1 week and I
was able to generate some results. However, I would like to know more
about the algorithms that are used by IBM (ie in the
Association/Clustering/Classification mining methods)

I was able to read a little bit about it in the manual ("Using the
IMD") but they really give a short description of the way the method
works. Is there any link or articles that I could find somewhere on the
internet ?

I really need to understand the mechanisms of that black box to
interprete my results !

Thank you in advance

Your best chance is to grab a book about data mining in general, for example
"Data Mining - Concepts and Techniques" by Han & Kamber.

The thing is that you won't get all the details of the algorithms in IM.
Those algorithms are adapted and improved over time. So any "official"
description could become an obstacle for changes in case someone relies on
some very specific behavior.
