DB2 Backup into 3590 tape drives

Hi everyone,

I am running DB2 8.2 under SuSE SLES9 (zSeries).
My current problem is when trying to make a direct backup to tape.

- I can make a DB2 backup to a filesystem and it works fine. (e.g.
backup into /tmp/test)
- And I can also tar the created file into a 3590 tape drive and it
works fine too. (e.g. tar into /dev/rtibm0 )

- What I cannot do is to directly backup my database (DB2 BACKUP
command) directly into a 3590 tape. It keeps giving several errors:

- Either the tape device is full (which is not, it is empty and
rewound).
- Or I have to mount /dev/btibm0 device into somewhere else (that I
don't need to do when I tar any file into it).

Help, please !!
