Size of DB2 Incremental Backup

DB2 UDB Work Group Server Edition V8.1.5
Nightly incremental delta backup, and the image size is 3GB.
But the transaction log for a whole day is less than 100MB.
How could this be possible?
Thanks.

If you update one record then whole (4K) page is placed in incremental
backup image, but to transactional log goes only information about the
one update.

SYSCATSPACE tablespace is not backed up incrementally but always full.
Also, as stated by someone else, every 4 KB page that had a change is being
backed up, even if only a small change happened to that page (this is
especially so for indexes).
LOB's are always backed up in full.

Maybe back up every 2 days or so since the transaction log is small?
