how to reinstall db2 after hard drive crash

hi, we had a db2 udb v8.1.6 EE on windows installed, the install drive
crashed, so all the programs related to db2 lost, but seems still have
leftover in the system, such as db2 services, programs..., i try to do
uninstall on the db2 Enterprise edition server, doesn't work, i try to
install db2 udb v8.2, doesn't work either, and i try to install same
fixpack level back, still won't help , please advise. thank you

You may be best off pursuing this through the PMR process. Can you
provide any specific error msgs in any of these circumstances?

Hi!

Lately, I had a similar problem (except for that it was on Linux). Just
restoring the whole DB2 install directory from the latest backup worked
fine :)

if nothing helps:
clear out the db2 directories and the db2 registry entries manually
(if needed also the entries for the services - the LEGATHY entries
cannot be removed; but they don't cause a problem) -
then a re-install should work.
