Converting Windows databases to Linux

Is it possible to convert Windows DB2 databases to Linux DB2?

Is it extremely difficult if it's possible?

I have been shown a way to get it done but it's very ineffecient. This
involves exporting data to text files and running a few db2look SQL
jobs. Then if all goes well, it involves invoking db2move. My
difficulty has been that when setting up the databases structurally,
they don't always want to work as they would have if were on the
original machine. It involves creating new larger buffer pools and
tablespaces to reference them. Also on some tables, there are "extra"
columns that are either created or taken away. When I do db2move on
these, the data in the new db's become truncated. This of course
results in Array Out of Bounds errors on the jsp applications that rely
on these databases.

Is there an easier way to get this done than how I'm doing it? I have
been told that it isn't by a very good source but I wanted to
double-check.

Thanks for any help and advice,

Harlin Seritt

When going from Windows to Linux, db2look and db2move is the best way. I
have seen some truncation messages during the load portion of db2move, but
upon further investigation it did not appear than any data was actually
truncated.

What would cause the ArrayOutOfBounds errors if they weren't truncated?
