Index space requirements

Hi,

The docs contain a section about calculating the index size (at
http://tinyurl.com/dexty). I tried to match these formulas to the size
reported by the 'Estimate size' option on the Control Center but I can't
match them.

Besides that, the Control Center Estimate size window shows the columns
estimated, minimum and maximum size. Minimum and maximum are exactly the
same but they are about 5.5 times the estimated size. I don't understand
what it means and the help doesn't really help.

How are these values calculated and what do they mean?

TIA, Gert
