I asked this last year, but never received a satisfactory answer:
<<Has the promise of stored procedures written in VB6 been fulfilled in
8.2? If there be a special syntax, and where do I find it, and where
are samples?
<<Would it be as efficient as, say, SQL? >>
--------------
That is, can I write a stored procedure in VB6 (**NOT** .NET)?
What is done with such items as "MODE," etc. That is, what is the
syntax? Can I just write it in VB6 as if it were a VB6 script/program
and ignore "MODE" and other special code words in the SQL version of
the same SP?
In any case, would it be as fast? 5 1426

What does this question have to do with DB2? It sounds like something that
belongs on a Visual Basic newsgroup.
Rhino
<<What does this question have to do with DB2? It sounds like something

No.
I know how to write the code for a DB2 SP in any language in which I
can write. The question is not whether I can write it, but whether DB2
will accept it.
Up till now my understanding was that a DB2 SP had to be written in
DB2's version of SQL procedural, or C. Last year, I read that DB2
would be able to accept code written in VB6 (?or VB.NET?).
So I'm asking if DB2 will accept the VB code; whether it has to be
compiled in a special way; etc. Not whether it can be theoretically
written in VB.

Check the docs about CLR modules at http://tinyurl.com/9e5fe
DB2 has always supported OLE stored procedures, which can be written in
VB. Starting from v8.2, DB2 also supports .NET stored procedures. Check
the SQL reference and Application development guide for details. This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics
