Migrating from DB2 7.2 to 8.2 Questions

Hi,

We are migrating a system from DB2 7.2 to DB2 8.2.2 for a SAP installation.

We have the migration guide from SAP.

SAP recommends using 16KB page sizes instead of 4KB page sizes.

What is the best route for us? Can we export our 4KB data and IXF import it into 16KB
containers? Is there a better, more efficient, supported way to do this? There are
thousands of tables, so this not only has to be done correctly, it has to be done to
stay within SAP support-able guidelines.

We also want to set up HADR in 8.2.2. Is there a RedBook with more information than
currently supplied docs? We also have the book Learning DB2 Visually, the latest DB2
book, which is fantastic by the way, but it does not go into enough detail on log
management for HADR. We need a little more specific information than just overview.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Serge. This RedBook is excellent. It solved the 4KB-to-16KB
question beautifully! ( SAP automatically sets it to 16KB during the
installation, which is exactly what the customer wants )

Do you have any RedBook recommendations for HADR?

Thanks!
