Can we create an alias for a sequence in db2

Can we create an alias for a sequence in db2 udb? We can do it in
oracle. But the same thing is not working in db2. I can create an
alias, but when i am trying to use it, there is an error that the
object is not found.

Not supported.
ALIAS is only for table-objects. So if you CREATE ALIAS a1 FOR s1
DB2 will go looking for a table, not a sequence.

PS: I see this request once in a blue moon, never remotely high enough
to make it on the short list.
FWIW, I'm willing to be convinced otherwise...

Cheers
