Accessing old IBM DB2 V5.2

P: n/a
I need to consider all the options available to access an old DB2 V5.2
database located on an OS/2 WarpServer machine from a Linux box.
The OS/2 machine cannot be upgraded to higher version of DB2.

Up to now I've found only one solution:

1) Install a V6.1 client on the Linux box and access the DB2 V5.2 on
the OS/2 machine via ODBC. (V7 or V8 clients do not work because DB2
allows clients to access DB2 servers two versions up and one version
down)

I would like to know if there are other solution available.

Thanks, Max

Do we even have a V6.1 client for Linux? I don't think so. Don't think
Linux support was provided until V7.

DB2 v5.2 for Linux was released as a public beta, but never was
officially supported by IBM.

DB2 v6.1 was the first Linux/ia32 release of DB2.

Since then, IBM has added Linux/ia64, Linux/x86-64 (nee Linux/amd64),
Linux/ppc64, Linux/390, and Linux/390x support.

I'm waiting for the Linux/PS2 and Linux/GE Refridgerator support,
myself... Being able to check the supply of cola while blasting my
favourite aliens, now that's a useful product. :-)
