Information Integrator - AIX ODBC - any user experiences?

Hi All;
We are exploring the use of Websphere Information Integrator (formerly
DataJoiner...) to integrate Excel data into our DB2 AIX data warehouse
via an ODBC wrapper.

Anyone have any war stories or use the DataDirect or OpneLink products
that provide the ODBC bridge capability?

Thanks for any useful info.

I thought that II has the ability to read Excel files directly (using
the correct relational wrapper) ?

Hi Ian;
Not from AIX. The only way to get to Excel from *nix is via 3rd party
ODBC wrappers as far as I know.

I see. Is running II on a Windows server is out of the question?
