How many tcp ports does DB2 server use?
I installed UDB 8.2 on a AIX system and created several instances.
I used consecutive ports for each instance, but when I look at
/etc/services file, it seems that db2icrt command adds 4 ports for each
server.

I had created and instance, and decided that I need to change the name,
so I dropped it, but the entries in /etc/services file is still there.
DB2_dba2tst 60036/tcp
DB2_dba2tst_1 60037/tcp
DB2_dba2tst_2 60038/tcp
DB2_dba2tst_END 60039/tcp
These other ports are created if you have installed DB2 UDB ESE. They
are only used if you are using the database partitioning feature (DPF)
-- the fast communications manager uses these ports for inter-partition
communication.
I do not use partitioning feature, so, I could modify the /etc/services file
and remove these entries so that I do not get confused reading output
of netstat, etc. commands.
