DB2 Connect with MDAC

AG
Can some one confirm the following bug with IBM OLE DB?

In Visual Basic, if you set a function with return value of
"Recordset", you will get an error message "Class does not support
Automation". We never made changes to our DLL's binary compatibility
to get this message in first place.

We are working under following environment;

1- Windows Server 2003
2- IBM DB2 Connect (gateway)
3- IBM OLE/DB for DB2
4- MDAC 2.7/2.8
5- VB 6.0
6- ASP (Client)

As soon as we change the connection from OLE/DB to ODBC -- everything
works fine.

Thanks.

You didn't list your DB2 version.

V7.x's OLE DB driver was a disaster area. V8 provided an improvement,
although the IBM OLEDB driver is still functionally crippled (see the IBM
documentation for details) and less reliable than one may wish.

Assuming you're on V8.x, open a PMR. In the meantime, use the MS OLEDB over
ODBC driver. This combination works well.
