db2cmnclp

Hey all.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the process db2cmnclp is.

I'm running DB2 WS 8.2 on a AMD Opteron with 2GB ram. This process seems
to be hogging the CPU. A strace produces no helpful info.

The process has no apparent ending and keeps my CPU a 99.7% busy. Highly
annoying for the users using the db.
I think it has something to do with monitoring, but I have no idea...
neither has google.

Thanks for any replies.

Ah. Problem solved.

It appeared that this process is a backend process used by control center.
for some obscure reason this process was not started by the DAS user
(switchuser) but by the instance user. Apparantly the switchuser did not
succeed. But now, after recreating the DAS and redistributing the
privileges, everything works like a charm.
