SQL30083N Attempt to change password for user id "17"

Hello,

I'm sure may are familiar with the following error. Getting it while trying
to change the password from w/in the db2 client? Running IBM DB 8.2
Fixpack8 SLES8/2.4 moving to SLES9/2.6.5

SQL30083N Attempt to change password for user id "17" failed with security
reason "UNSUPPORTED FUNCTION" (""). SQLSTATE=08001

Since the function is not suppoted by the OS, anyone has a workaround?
Besides allowing the users to change their password via SSH. And if it's
the only option, is there a way to point the users to the right direction
(e.g. "goto this http:// to change your password") by modifying the error
response?
