Question on IY54968: IN THE DATABASE SNAPSHOT,"APP ID HOLDING THE OLDEST TRANSACTION"IS INCORRECT.

Dear all,

It seems to me the IY54968 apar (V8.2) does not correct totally the problem:

db2start
db2 connect to sample
db2 get snapshot for db on sample | grep "oldest transaction"
==> What should be the result ?

If I am not mistaken, it should be 0, as of version 7, as a "connect
completed" status is not a transaction ?

The result gives you the application id that is connected.

Thanks for your help,

Jean-Marc

If you look at the app snapshot you'll see that an 'internal' commit is
done...this is probably something to do with evmon activation or the
like, which is done during first connect processing (various catalog
reads etc)...in the case of my db I see 3 rows read as well on
connect...all on the catalog tables.
