Multithreading in java stored procedure

I am looking to implement some parallel data processing at the
application level using java multithreading in a java stored procedure.
From what I learned in the DB2 doc, it seems to be achievable by using

SQLJ contexts. Did anybody actually try that in DB2 V8.1 LUW, any
good/bad luck?

Thanks,
-Eugene
