In one istance I have four different databases. If I use db2stop all
databases will be shutdown. How can I shutdown each database
individually in one instance?

db2stop shuts down the instance.

You would like to DEACTIVATE the database

db2 DEACTIVATE DATABASE SAMPLE

All applications connected to the database need to DISCONNECT or you
have to FORCE them.
You can choose to ACTIVATE the database prior to use. If not, it is
activated during the first CONNECT.

Please refer to the Information Center using the capital words to get
more information about the syntax.

Note that you can't deactivate a database if people are connected...so
you may want to use "quiesce" to get exclusive control of the database
before deactivating.
