get server date

i want to get the server date in sql server i got this s.p

CREATE SP GETDATE()
select get date;

it returns me the date but now in db2 i dont know how to do it, thanks in advance.
i'm working in V.B. 6.0 and db2 ver 8.1

Just use standard SQL:

CREATE FUNCTION getdate()
RETURNS DATE
LANGUAGE SQL
RETURN CURRENT DATE;
