Fixpack 7a

We have the base install of DB2 Connect v8.1 installed. My db2level command
shows:

Informational tokens are "DB2 v8.1.1.0", "s021023", "", and FixPak "0".
Product is installed at "/usr/opt/db2_08_01".

This is on an AIX 5.1 Unix server.

My question is - can I go right up to the newest Fixpack 7a and apply that
on top of the base install? Can I skip all the other fixpacks in between?
The readme file talks about moving up to verison 8.2? Will the application
of the Fixpack 7a automatically move us up to 8.2? Or should we install v8.2
and then put the newest fixpack on?

You should be able to go to straight up to FP7a.

Yes you can directly go to Fixpak 7. When you apply fixpak 7 to DB2
8.1 it is equivalent to DB2 8.2
BTW as far as I know there is no Fixpak 7a there is only Fixpak 7
Thanks,
Yasaswi

This is incorrect. Fixpack 7a is the same as Fixpack 7 + security fixes,
and replaced the original Fixpack 7.

Hi Matt:
I recently did this and when I run db2level command I get Fixpak level
7 and not 7a. I got the fix pak from the ibm web site. The operating
system is Aix 5.2.
Thanks,
Yasaswi

It's still the same fixpack level. But you will find that the build date
will be after 20040812
