DB2 64-bit fallback to 32-bit

I have migrated my DB2 instance on AIX to 64-bit. I now have a need
to fallback to 32-bit. The db2iupdt command does not seem to allow me
to do that. Why is that? How can I make that happen?

Are you running DB2 v7? That is a limitation of version 7 - migration
to 64-bit is a one-way street in version 7.

I am running DB2 V8. Am getting a DBI1014E. I currently have no
fixpaks on. Possibly this is addressed in a fixpak?

I'm having a hard time figuring this out. I can find no place in the
v8 code, even going back to v8.1 GA, where DBI1014 is called. However,
I do find it in the v7 code.

Can you provide a trace? "./db2iupdt -d -w 32 ... 2>&1 | tee trc" and
send me the trc file? Thanks.

Check the FixPack (7a) readme file. There is a section (2.0) describing
how to uninstall the 8.2 upgrade. A special utility (db2demigdb) that
comes with the fixpack is used to fix the databases themselves.

The readme continues, stating: "If the file sets were committed (SMIT)
when DB2 Version 8.2 was installed .... only course of action available
is to uninstall DB2 from your system, reinstall DB2 Version 8, and bring
DB2 up to the desired level ......."
