Dot in usernames

I am using DB2 UDB 8.1. Can I add users to the database that have dots
in their usernames (firstname.lastname)?

Thanks

Assuming your database server is running on Windows, this functionality
is available as of DB2 UDB V8.1 Fixpack 7 (a.k.a. DB2 UDB V8.2).
