Copy of database

Hello all.
I need transfer a db2 database ( tables, records ecc. ) from a server1 to
server2.
The operating system of server1 and server2 is win2000 server.
I have installed db2 to server2. Now how can i copy the database from
server1 to server2 ?
Can i simple copy the directory db2 and all subdirs ?

Thanks and best regards

No.

Use backup/restore instead.

Best and safest way to do this is to backup the db to tape and restore
it on the target server. Use DB2 BACKUP, RESTORE commands.
If you use backup to disk, once done then copy the whole path over to
the target and restore from that path, as in:
db2 backup db <dbname> to X:\backup .....
The path built wil be:
X:\backup\dbname.0\instancename\node0000\catn0000\ 20041007\hhmmss.001
Move all that path to target system, then:
restore <dbname> ... from x:\backup taken at 20041007hhmmss ....
