ordering a long varchar column

P: n/a
I needed to log all statements executed during a period of time
and now i need ordering the long varchar column in the statements monitor table
(STMT_TEXT)

Is there any flag to set to release the DB2 255 char wide ordering limit ?

Thanks

Which version are you on? This limit has long since been lifted.
However you cannot order based on a LONG VARCHAR.
You should be able to cast the LONG VARCHAR to a VARCHAR and order on
that though.
Note: You may need a syteem temp tablespace of appropriate page size.

I'm using 8.2
It's a CLOB Field (whoops)
Casting to varchar(32000) worked fine :) (32K is wide enough to truncate)

I'd hope we didnt need over varchar max lenght so soon :)

Thanks
