db2cc fails on 64 bit AIX 5.2

aaa
I installed DB2 8.1.1 FP 7 on an AIX system running AIX 5.2 in 32 bit
mode. The DB2 control center started up fine until I changed the
server to boot in 64 bit mode. Now db2cc fails. I have been told by
one of our Java experts that the error messages mean that java is not
finding its core libraries and he thinks the CLASSPATH is not being
set correctly. We tried to manually correct this without success (by
adding various jar files in jre/lib to the CLASSPATH). I have not
altered the instance's .profile or db2profile. The only thing that
changed was booting the machine in 64 bit mode.

Both the 32 bit instance and the 64 bit instance fail with the same
error. Each user points to the appropriate version of Java (ie. the 32
bit instance uses the 32 bit Java, and the 64 bit instance uses the 64
bit java). The sqllib/lib and bin of both instances also point to the
appropriate locations (ie. 32=>32 64=>64).

Try setting the environment, DISPLAY.

for eg: setenv DISPLAY "Ip address of your host system:0.0" (c-shell).

Regards
Jignesh.
