New DB2 responsibilities

P: n/a
DB2 users - I have recently acquired some new job responsibilites that
require a basic understanding of DB2 - any advice on a book or primer
that would be useful for a general introduction - I am not an engineer
but have a fundamental understanding of distributed computing.

TIA

Get these two books from IBM's own press:

DB2 Universal Database v8 for LUW Database Administration Certification Guide ISBN 0-13-046361-2
Advanced DBA Certification Guide & Reference for DB2 UDB v8 for LUW ISBN 0-13-046388-4

There is enough information in these two books to cover just about everything DB2, and they
are from IBM with CD's, excellent reference set, and the complete DB2 doc-set in PDF is on CD,
so you can reference anything DB2 right on your Linux or Windows workstation.

Craig Mullens' latest iteration is also excellent but I don't have it yet. :-(

You can find all at Amazon and Barnes-n-Noble and Borders and ...
