db2cctr will not initialize if XP SP2 is installed

P: n/a
Don't install Windows XP SP2 if you use db2cctr.exe and have DB2
V7.1.0.6.0 installed. After I installed XP SP2, db2cctr.exe would not
initialize. After I uninstalled SP2, db2cctr.exe worked fine.

IBM has posted an article called "Configuring Windows XP SP2 Firewall
for DB2 UDB".

http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview...&cc=us&lang=en

This may or may not get the Version 7, non-Java Command Center
(db2cctr.exe) working again.

Have just come across an explanation of 'Software DEP' at
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro.../sp2mempr.mspx.
Also a condensed version in MS Knowledgebase article 875352.

I won't be able to try it for a couple of days - I'll let you know.
