Stinger server vs. FP6 admin client compatibility

P: n/a
I will not be able to simultaneously upgrade all of my production
servers to Stinger, so I am trying to figure out if either of these
configurations will be problematic:

DB2 V8.2 Control Center on WinXP connecting to V8.1.6 server and tools
catalog DB

or the opposite,

DB2 V8.1.6 Control Center on WinXP connecting to V8.2 server and tools

I anticipate that the tools catalog for Stinger will change, and that
an admin client running an older version of Control Center, such as V8
FP5 or FP6, may encounter problems. Hopefully I am wrong, and my older
V8 admin clients will have no problem managing Stinger databases, and
the other way around, as well.

Can anyone give me a definitive answer on this?
