Task Center application on Win2k3 is slooooowww. Whenever I make a
change or update to something in task center it takes 5 minutes to
apply the changes or bring it up. It seems to lose focus on the
windows in Control Center and Task Center. Gotta love java... Any
changes I can make to help this run better?

Also I notice from looking at the data from a list applications, that
if you have control center, command center, task center or anything from
the db2 tools, the application name in list applications just shows as
javaw.exe. Control Center used to show as db2cc or something. I need a
more specific listing of what the application is. If I have 5
javaw.exe showing I have no idea which is connected and which I might
need to force.

Have you considered trying a client on a different platform? I had the
same slow performance on a different platform (7.x) until a service pack
seemed to fix it.

My current 8.x on a Linux workstation doesn't exhibit the sloooow
responses you are getting.

In response to Philip..I am seeing this from the console itself on
win2k3. I will try another os level client maybe from 2000 or linux.

I am beginning to think that TASK CENTER and win2k3 has problems. I
had everything set and ready to go last night. All that would run
overnight were the tasks of backup, reorg, and runstats that i created
in task center. I come in this morning and I can not connect to the
server at all from a error of SQL1226N . I can't force applications, I
can not stop or start instance. SO reboot :( Initially I had tried
using automatic maintenance but it did not seem to work. Then when I
created jobs in task center it all of the sudden started using
automatic maintenance. So I went back in turned auto maintenace off
and the automaintenance jobs still ran for toolsdb. So I checked and
it was on only for that db so I have now disabled it. LAst things in
the db2diag log before it started getting the SQL1226N error was about
automaint jobs on toolsdb. ok questions:

1. Anyone running task center jobs from db2 8.2 on win2k3
successfully?
2. Does TOOLSDB require some type of tuning?

I would like to know if anyone else is having these issues or has
ideas before I get ready to reload the this server and/or stop using
task center to run scripts.
Thanks,
MM
