"SQLSTATE" not valid in the context where it is used.

Hello,

I'm getting a:

"SQLSTATE" is not valid in the context where it is used.

This is in a stored procedure when I try to a:

FETCH FROM customerids_cursor INTO v_MYVAR1,v_MYVAR2, v_MYVAR3,
v_MYVAR4, v_MYVAR5;

WHILE (SQLSTATE = '00000') DO

UPDATE MYTABLE SET MYVALUE = 1, COAPPLICANTID = v_MYVAR2
WHERE CUSTOMERID = v_MYVAR1 AND ACCOUNTID = v_MYVAR3 AND v_MYVAR5 =
'TEST1';

UPDATE MYTABLE SET MYVALUE = 2, COAPPLICANTID = v_MYVAR2
WHERE CUSTOMERID = v_MYVAR1 AND ACCOUNTID = v_MYVAR3 AND v_MYVAR5 =
'TEST2';

UPDATE MYTABLE SET MYVALUE = 2, COAPPLICANTID = v_MYVAR2
WHERE CUSTOMERID = v_MYVAR1 AND ACCOUNTID = v_MYVAR3 AND v_MYVAR5 =
'TEST3';

FETCH FROM customerids_cursor INTO v_MYVAR1,v_MYVAR2, v_MYVAR3,
v_MYVAR4, v_MYVAR5;

END WHILE;

Any idea what's wrong with this?

Thanks,
Eric

Eric,

Did you decalare SQLSTATE? (it should be a CHAR(5))
For reasons strange and twisted SQLSTATE and SQLCODE are not implicitly
declared variables... which is working as designed.

Cheers
