dms with stripe type volume

hi, i would like to choose dms type tablespace for the user data , the
server is db2 udb v8.1 on windows 64 bit, the volume created is use
stripe type, so it will cross the data on two different disk with same
logical volume , is this help for performance, will this cause problem
if we need to restore in different server without multiple disk ?

Striping is always done at a lower level than db2 uses to access harddisk.
So I would expect no peoblems.
It is "help for performance"!

aka.

Make sure you extent size is an even multiple of your strip size. Remember
that extents are the number of pages and the stripe size is usually
expressed in K bytes.

You can not stripe the disks via the OS, and just let DB2 stripe the
tablespace by placing one container on each disk. This may actually work
better, especially if you have 2 or more processors.
